About Planeta Organica
We create Planeta Organica products with only natural fabric s, made by either pesticide-free or low pesticide farming. That is why our sheets, bathrobes and baby clothes are safe and comfortable for daily use. They are completely safe and harmless even if a baby puts them in her mouth. Our “living clothes” bring gentle comfort to your body, and they fit you better as you use them longer.

Why Planeta Organica Products Are Comfortable
Our sheets are made with one of the few ancient looms. It is 2m 40cm wide (100 inches) and operated by a few women or a man to weave one big seamless sheet. The traditional craftsmanship can preserve the comfort and gentleness of the natural material in the fabrics.

Our Fabrics
We use cotton, hemp and silk as fabrics for our products. Silks and hemps are carefully selected and imported from China and Thailand. In order to produce safer and better products, we have been operating our own cotton farm since 2007. Through, research, development, and intensive training we strive for better efficiency to make richer soil and manure. We are currently applying for an organic certificate from
IFOAM in Germany.

The Benefits of Natural Fabrics and Natural Plant Dyeing
As we wear natural fabrics , they help our body to sweat and breath in a healthy way. From ancient days, indigo dyeing has been used as insect protection, and it also relaxes our spirits. Natural plant dyeing is also known for its medical benefits, as turmeric, a natural coloring agent used in the dyeing processes , has bacteria-killing effects.

Where Planeta Organica Products Are Manufactured
Southeast Asia, the land of sunshine, lively vegetation, and ancient knowledge of crafts, is the birthplace of Planeta Organica. The region is also full of the vivid colors of wild, natural fabrics and skilled craftsmanship.

Our Manufacturing Process
Our products are produced in community weaving groups in rural areas. Our employees are rewarded fairly for their effort, and we have a strict policy not to hire child workers or elderly workers illegally. We are always aiming to improve our productivity and technology, providing training to young workers so that they can inherit the traditional craftsmanship. Our goal is to preserve the ancient wisdom and integrate it with new creative ideas. We also care for environmental issues: the traditional way of weaving is more environmentally-friendly, as it helps us to save energy during our production process.

Hand Weaving and Machine Weaving
Because the process of machine weaving is ten times faster than that of hand weaving, it requires tougher threads, processed with starch, oil, and polyvinyl alcohol. On the other hand, fabrics woven by hand retain air in them, and are therefore rich in resiliency and heat retention. They are not as tough as machine woven fabrics, but the tenderness and comfort of nature are kept in hand woven fabrics. Threads are also processed only with natural materials, such as rice glue and natural wax.

Washing Instruction
When washing our products, we recommend natural detergents to preserve the tenderness of the fabrics. Natural detergents are also more environmentally-friendly. All fabrics have been washed after weaving, but they might shrink a little. When dried in dryers, the products will shrink approximately three percent in size. Although our products endure long-lasting use, we recommend washing them for a short time, and using washing nets for smaller pieces. For our plant-dyed products, we recommend you to hang them away from direct sunlight to avoid fading. It is best to hang them in the shade to dry.
